CARERS were honoured at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's tenth annual Adults' and Children's Social Care awards this week.
The ceremony took place at Gisborough Hall, where 172 people received recognition for their achievements in the past year, both in qualifications and length of service.
Cabinet member for health and social services, Councillor Valerie Halton, said: "The people receiving these awards are dedicated to the care of vulnerable people and give time and commitment far beyond the call of duty.
"We very much appreciate their dedication and contribution to improving the quality of life for so many of our residents."
Thirty-two awards were presented, including ten long service awards for 25 years and 25 long service awards for 15 years.
