A children's centre will be officially opened tomorrow.
The Shildon Sure Start Children's Centre, in Byerley Road, will provide early years' education, childcare and support for parents.
Parents and carers have helped design the services at the centre, which is on the site of Timothy Hackworth Primary School.
County councillor Vernon Chapman will unveil a plaque at 10.30am to mark the opening.
Families can visit the centre at 10am, prior to the unveiling, with a children's entertainer on hand and face painting, arts and crafts.
Staff will also be available to answer questions about the activities and services offered by Sure Start.
