A TEENAGER has gained a 100 per cent score in her GNVQ business studies exam.
Fifteen-year-old Ashley Wood, a year 11 pupil at Staindrop Comprehensive School, also achieved 98 per cent in her finance exam last year, putting her in the top ten per cent in the country.
Ashley, who wants to be a stockbroker once she has completed her education, is also managing director of a Young Enterprise Company and does work for a graphics company.
She showed her flair for numbers when she took part in a recent maths challenge and was one of four pupils gaining a gold certificate.
She said: "Business is probably my favourite subject. I had done a lot of revision going into the exam but after it I actually didn't think I had done that well.
"Maths, finance and stats are just something that really interest me and I seem to be quite good at them."
Her business studies teacher Alyson Carr, said: "For someone to get 100 per cent in an exam like this is a great achievement. It's never been done in this school and we're very happy for Ashley."
