CLEVELAND Fire Brigade's Prince's Trust Team has been raising funds to take young victims of a nuclear disaster out for a day.
Twelve children from Chernobyl are visiting the UK for a month on a trip organised by the Teesside link of the Chernobyl Children's Life Line Charity.
The Prince's Trust team has arranged to take them to Scarborough Sea Life Centre and then to Pizza Hut as part of their team challenge on Thursday.
The team of 11 raised the money to pay for the trip through bag packing in supermarkets, a bonus ball game, a car boot sale and selling cakes.
Karen Duncan, Prince's Trust co-ordinator, said: "The team has been working really hard and put a lot of effort into this challenge, and are they really looking forward to meeting the children and making the day they spend with them special.
