THIEVES armed with industrial saws have stolen equipment valued at more than £70,000.
Three men broke into the compound of Advanced Utility Solutions, at Lawson Industrial Estate, Middlesbrough, and left with their haul within an hour.
The site was targeted between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, on Tuesday. The men used a Stihl saw to cut a large hole into a container housing the expensive highway equipment.
They then used the saw to cut off the locks from inside and outside the container door to open it up.
It is believed they loaded all the equipment into a large white van, cut off the locks on the site gates and made off.
A list of the stolen equipment includes eight JCB hydraulic breakers worth 4,000 each, 16 Stihl saws worth 500 each, three wacker plates, core drills, floor saws and gas detectors.
Anyone who has any information about the burglary is asked to contact Middlesbrough CID on 01642-303126 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
