A magnificent seven goals saw Stanley Royal maintain their 100 per cent record in the league as they close in on the title.

Former Blackhill Comrades striker Lee Innes struck four times in the 7-1 home success against Consett Steel Club. Scott Moat scored two others along with Kevin Dixon with Chris Connelly replying.

Aaron Hodgson and Richard Parkin doubles were enough for AK Leisure to record a 4-2 home win over Witton Gilbert WMC who managed goals from Barry Allport and Gary Draper.

There was another 4-2 scoreline in Division Two when Annfield Plain Demi returned with all three points from Burnopfield Sun Inn. Two-goal Steven Kirkbride, Ronnie Eilles and Aaron Shields were the match winners with Stuart Pearson and Owen Spinks hitting back for the Sun Inn.

Darren Watson and Mark Turner goals secured an odd goal in three win for Consett Station Ex Juniors at Consett Top Club who scored through Michael Hindmarch.

It was also 2-1 as Anthony Sanderson and Craig Plattern goals did the damage for Annfield Plain Vic at home to Stanley Board Inn who netted through Tony Elvin.

In Division Three, Darren Coates grabbed a hat-trick for Jolly Drovers in their 8-0 rout of the Freemasons while Joe Durham scored twice for Stanley RAFA as they shared six goals and the points at home to Whitehills Pub.

Mark Richardson was in top form for Medomsley Miners Arms with a four-goal haul as they accounted for Newton Hall 7-1.

Consett Charity Cup

Third Division Stateside caused something of an upset when they crushed top flight East Stanley Hill Top 3-0 to book their place in the third round of the competition with Gary Charlton scoring twice and Stuart Nichols the other.

Alan Coxon was in top form with a hat-trick as freescoring Oxhill Central were too hot to handle for Lintz Celtic as they romped to a 4-0 passage with Gavin Clews putting away the other.

First Division outfit Burton House came a cropper when they went to Division Two outfit Chopwell Hotel.

Lee Fortunato was once again in top form with yet another couple of goals to see the Hotel to a 4-1 win and place in round two.
