A LOT of colourful characters turned up at a village school yesterday and did a great deal of giggling as they tried to guess each others' names.
Fat Bag, Tooth Fairy, Ugly Sister and an Executioner were among the costumes worn by pupils at Ingleton to celebrate World Book Day.
Winners in class one were Thomas Forster as Mr Strong from the Mr Men, Abbie Salkeld as the Tooth Fairy and Hannah Emmerson as Jasmin, from Aladdin.
Prizes in class two went to Lauren Lee as an ugly sister from Cinderella, Marcus Weaver as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean and Hamish Sturley as Fat Bag from The Demon Vacuum Cleaner.
Class three's winners were Andrew Fearneyhough as Gunner from Stone Heart, Dale Deary as the Executioner from Daniel Gilbert and Jenny Stephenson as the White Witch from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
