A NUMBER of events are being organised to showcase activities and opportunities in deprived areas of County Durham.
The Wear Valley Community Network and Crook Community Partnership will hold three sessions this month.
They will take place at:
* Coundon and Leeholme Welfare Hall on Wednesday, from 10am to noon;
* Tow Law Community Hall on Thursday, from 10am to noon;
* Dene Valley One-Stop Shop, Eldon Lane, from 2pm to 4pm;
The events are designed to celebrate community activity and give residents the chance to see what is available on their own doorstep.
There will be entertainment, displays, face painting and refreshments.
The events will focus on Neighbourhood Renewal projects in the district, which include Learn with Sport and the Choices programme, made up of voluntary, community, education and business organisations that provide training and work placements.
