A REWARD for residents who recycle is being offered by a council and a supermarket chain.
Harrogate residents who put their recycling boxes out for kerbside collections between March 5 to 16 will have them returned with a voucher for four free energy-saving lightbulbs.
The scheme is being run in conjunction with Morrisons supermarkets, and vouchers can be redeemed at Morrisons stores.
Although the lightbulbs are more expensive to buy than normal ones, they make use of modern technology to reduce electricity costs and last longer.
The lightbulbs could save the average householder about £40 a year.
Residents who do not receive a kerbside recycling service can claim their free lightbulbs by calling 0800-512012 before March 31.
