TWO drunk teenagers began punching the wing mirrors off cars, a court has heard.
Simon Addison, 18, and a 17-year-old admitted two counts of criminal damage.
Sam Rogers, prosecuting, said that at about 11pm on Sunday, February 11, members of the public heard noises in Hambleton Place, Thirsk, and saw the pair near parked cars.
They went to see what was going on and saw that the wing mirrors on two Ford Escorts had been badly damaged.
Chris Bunting, in mitigation, said the vandalism was an act of drunken stupidity that Addison bitterly regretted.
Northallerton magistrates gave Addison, of Newlands Court, Thirsk, a six-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay a total of £157 in compensation, and £53 costs.
The other youth, who is not named to protect his identity, will be sentenced next week.
