SEVERAL major building projects across are in line for an industry award.
Eleven schemes from Darlington and County Durham have been nominated for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' (RICS) North-East Renaissance awards.
They include Rest House Pavilion, Shildon; NetPark Institute, Sedgefield; Community Village, West Park, Darlington; Rivergreen Centre, Aykley Heads; Incubator 1, NetPark, Sedgefield; Novus Business Centre, Peterlee; Coleridge Centre, Darlington College; Techno Cafe, Durham University; Beehive, Lingfield Point, Darlington; and Masonic Hall, Beamish.
Judges will draw up a shortlist for the eight categories in the awards and the North-East project of the year. Winners will be announced in April.
Michael Henning, chairman of RICS North-East, said: "The popularity of the Renaissance awards has grown year on year since it was launched in 2003."
