YOUNG people helped tidy up their neighbourhood centre yesterday.
Ragworth Neighbourhood Centre, in Stockton, received funding from the People and Nature Development Awards, in conjunction with Tees Valley Wildlife Trust. The centre's aim is to work with its users to create a secret garden in time for spring.
Manager Craig Farnaby said the clean-up was very productive.
"We had children from just five years up to 17, and they were very proud of their achievements," he said
Centre staff helped the youngsters plant bedding flowers and erect a greenhouse, to grow their own tomatoes.
The healthy eating cafe provided a meal for the young workers at the centre, in St John's Way.
