A STUDENT welfare officer has accidentally emailed a link to a porn website to her whole university college.
Rachael Boyce, the vice-president for welfare on the junior common room (JCR) at Durham University’s Hatfield College, sends a weekly update to all undergraduate students at the college, usually on housing or social issues.
But her most recent email, which also included information about International Women’s Day, contained a link to a pornography website.
According to student website The Tab, the email contained no explanation of the link or its contents.
Another email followed just 14 minutes later, apologising and suggesting the email account had been hacked.
It said the original email had been drafted several days earlier and the password to the account had been unchanged for “a number of years”.
“You (might) have noticed that it included a (sic) external link,” it said.
“Apologies to you all.”
