TWO young women had to be cut free from their car, after it 'flipped' on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire.
The incident happened on the northbound motorway at about 4.30pm between junction 49 for Dishforth and junction 50 for Baldersby.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews spent about an hour using hydraulic cutting equipment, small tools and lighting to release the women, said to be in their 20s.
They were taken to hospital with neck and spinal injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
It is not known how their Ford Fiesta came to 'flip' and roll, ultimately landing on its wheels.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Crews from Boroughbridge and Ripon attended the incident.
