FOUR people, including a 12-year-old girl who suffered a fractured spine, were left needing hospital treatment after a collision near Stockton on Monday night.
The schoolgirl is in a stable condition at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
A 13-year-old girl, 44-year-old male driver and a woman, all from the Whitley Bay area, were released from hospital having suffered cuts and bruises. All four were in a Citroen Picasso.
The collision took place at around 10.40pm on the A19 at its junction with the A139 at Norton.
Witnesses are asked to contact PC Craig Wren from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 189876.
