A FUNERAL director is helping people to remember those who have lost their lives during conflict by offering free poppy crosses to customers.
Speckmans Funeral Service has set up a dedicated area in their premises in Front Street, Wingate, County Durham, for people to remember their friends and relatives who have died during battle.
The area, which has also been set up at John Meynell Funeral Service in North Road, Darlington, and Stephenson Way, Newton Aycliffe, features a book of remembrance, wartime photos and memorabilia, poppies and poppy crosses for visitors to take away.
Manager Amanda Conway said: “We have got a book of remembrance for anyone who would like to remember their family member or friend.
“They can have a cup of tea if they want, and take the poppy crosses home with them.”
