A MAN needed hospital treatment after being hit with a piece of wood during a disturbance.
It happened just before 4.15pm on Sunday (August 31) at an address in Elm Place, Newbottle, near Houghton-le-Spring.
Police arrived to find a 44-year-old man with arm injuries.
The victim was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful wounding and is helping police with their enquiries.
