A CHARITY that supports carers is holding a major event to raise money for its work.
Durham County Carers Support’s (DCCS) first summer ball will be on Thursday, September 18, at Hardwicke Hall, Sedgefield, County Durham, between 7 and 11.30pm.
DCCS offers support, advice and practical help and has more than 10,000 carers registered.
The event will be compered by Chris Lloyd, Deputy Editor of The Northern Echo, and entertainment includes Sue Sweeney, the comedienne and BBC Newcastle presenter, live music from Alice and Emma Jordan, a performance from KDANZ, and a buffet, disco and raffle.
Many businesses have donated raffle prizes and some have sponsored the event. All proceeds will go to developing the service and directly supporting carers.
Tickets cost £30 and are available from Joanne Jones on 01325-524605, joanne.jones@dccarers.org or Susan Garrett on 0191-500-6030, susan.garrett@dccarers.org
