POLICE have now arrested 117 people as part of a major investigation into sexual exploitation.
Seventeen of the arrests made by Northumbria Police as part of Operation Sanctuary have already led to charges being made.
Four cases have been completed and one person has been reported for summons in relation to a sexual assault.
Police say they are continuing to work with other agencies to speak to all potential victims and are asking everyone to be vigilant and report any concerns.
Last month, Gurhan Sayan, 45, of Plunkett Terrace, Chester-le-Street, was jailed for 45 months for sexually assaulting a 28-year-old woman.
Anyone with information or concerns connected to the investigation is asked to call Northumbria Police on 101 and quote Operation Sanctuary or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
Advice and support is also available from Victim Support by calling 0845-277-0977 or Childline on 0800-1111.
