FIRE crews had to be called to help paramedics free an eight-year-old girl, after a garden fork impaled her foot.
Ambulance staff were called to East Way in Whitby at about 1.45pm on Saturday (July 26) to help the girl. When they arrived, they were forced to call on firefighters to help them safely remove the garden fork.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said they used manpower to remove the fork and helped paramedics administer first aid before the girl was taken to hospital.
