TOMORROW'S Headline Challenge between BBC Tees and The Northern Echo concerns this video posted on YouTube which has turned a howling, piano-playing dog into an internet sensation.
The Bassenji dog, apparently filmed in Russia, stands on its hind legs on the piano stool and bashes out some chords with its front feet. Then it throws its head back and howls in the most excruciating manner imaginable.
The purpose of the challenge is to see who comes up with the best headline – the journalists at The Northern Echo or the listeners to Ali Brownlee’s Breakfast Show on the radio.
At the moment, the Echo has rejected Woofgang Amadeus and Fur Elise and has plumped for 1812 Roverture as its entry, but all that may change if we think of something better.
The score for the week so far is Echo 3 BBC Tees 3 so all is to play for on “fish-and-chip Friday”.
Can you provide us with a headline?
