STUDENTS can honestly say they’re in the library when actually sneaking off for a quick drink thanks to a pub’s £260,000 refit.
The former Varsity bar, on Saddler Street, Durham City, has been refurbished and renamed The Library.
The new venue combines a bar with a cafe and study facilities such as super-fast broadband, a WiFi-linked printer, plugs and USB ports.
The Library is open now and until midnight seven days a week.
The relaunch has created seven new jobs.
