COUNCIL chiefs are planning to showcase the range and diversity of businesses in the area and celebrate their achievements.
Hambleton District Council is to hold its first-ever business awards in July as part of its “Business Friendly – going for growth” agenda.
And time is running out for firms and residents to nominate a business or individual within a business who they think is worthy of recognition.
Awards will be presented in nine categories: apprentice champion, community contribution, local is best, innovation, supporting entrepreneurs, engaging young minds, Hambleton champion, learning and development and best-dressed windows and displays.
Sponsors for the event include the Federation of Small Businesses and Dales of Thirsk.
The closing date for nominations is May 30. More details and forms are available at hambleton.gov.uk/awards
