A NORTH-East student has seen his travel guide published on a train company’s website.
David Holliday, a 20-year-old history student at Durham University, won a Cross Country student bloggers competition run via Facebook.
He won the chance to travel to a city of his choice on the firm’s network and write a travel guide of his chosen destination for its website, mentored by Lonely Planet digital editor Tom Hall.
Mr Holliday chose to visit Manchester.
He said: “Winning this competition has provided me with a fantastic chance to learn from one of the best in the business.
“Tom has provided me with so many helpful hints and tips and I’m really thankful to him and Cross Country for this opportunity.”
Mr Holliday’s guide to Manchester can be read at crosscountrytrains.co.uk/special-offers/places/manchester
