A YORKSHIRE Dales shopkeeper hopes her alternative Tour de France charity T-shirts will catch on.
The T-shirts, featuring the phrase Up t'hill and down t'dale, were designed by Helen Iveson, from the Mulberry Bush gift shop, in Hawes, and Wensleydale artist Graham Ashbridge.
Mrs Iveson said she got the idea after becoming sick of Le Tour merchandise featuring a sheep on a bicycle.
“I've never seen a sheep on a bike and I thought this phrase summed up the Tour better - it's also how we speak up here.”
The shop is donating £1 from every t-shirt sold to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The T-shirts went on sale on Tuesday morning and the shop had already sold four by lunchtime.
