POTTERY EXHIBITION: The Turnstone Gallery in Sandsend, near Whitby, is holding a selling exhibition of ceramics made by members of the Northern Potters Association.

The work shows the wide range of ways contemporary makers, from across the region, are inspired by working with clay – from sculpture to wall pieces and hand-built ceramics to pots for eating and drinking. The gallery is open from 11am to 5pm, Thursday to Monday from April 26 until June 8. Visit www.turnstonegallery.net for more information.

POPPY RUN: The Royal British Legion is looking for someone to organise a fundraising Poppy Run in the region.

The Poppy Run was formed in 2011 and is a 5km fun run either on or off road.

Organisers can be a group, individual or company and the Royal British Legion will support with documentation, entries and an organiser’s pack.

The charity will also provide signage and tee-shirts and medals for participants and volunteers.
