THE Archbishop of York followed one of the great Christian tradition when he washed the feet of 12 people today, April 17.
The ceremony at York Minster remembered the Last Supper and was part of the annual Maundy Thursday service.
The Minster’s learning manager Kate Whitworth was among those whose feet were washed by Dr John Sentamu.
She said, “It was a real privilege to be asked if I wanted to take part in the service – I’ve never done this before. It’s such an important service in the church’s year that I wanted to be involved.”
