A TOWN’S former mayor will be put in the stocks this weekend to raise funds for a youth cafe.
Brian Myers has volunteered to have wet sponges thrown at him at Willington Community Action’s fun day being held from 11am to 2pm on Saturday (March 29).
Other activities at the event being held on the green in the centre of Willington include stalls and games.
All the money raised from the free fun day will go towards the group’s Surf Shack internet café for children.
Young members of Willington Community Action have raised £500 for the project by completing a four mile sponsored walk.
For more information on the fun day or the internet café, contact Margaret Metcalf at Willington Community Action Centre on 01388-742000.
