THE first monthly chic ‘vintique’ fair takes place in Barnard Castle next week.

The event will be held at The Witham, on Wednesday, April 2, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Items on sale include antiques, collectables, vintage goods, retro, jewellery, arts, crafts, books and gifts Entry is 50p.

MUSEUM EVENTS: Two events take place in the Bowes Museum, in Barnard Castle, on Friday, April 4. Artist Linda Birch demonstrates how to glaze in the style of the Old Masters, using acrylics, from 10am to 4pm. Entry is £35 or £30 for Friends of the museum. Arnike Schhmidt from the National Gallery explores The Execution of Maximillian, giving an insight into the French master’s life and art, at 2.30pm. Entry is free, with admission.
