HUNDREDS of runners pulled on their trainers and did their bit for charity this weekend.
Both young and old descended on South Park, in Darlington, to take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile.
Participants could run either one, three, or six miles with all money raised going towards good causes both in the UK and across the world.
Dragons’ Den star, Duncan Bannatyne, was just one of the runners taking part in the event, which saw competitors in fancy dress running alongside more serious athletes.
Darlington Mayor Charles Johnson was on hand to start the races, and all competitors received a medal.
