Offering fresh, locally sourced food in a stunning location, along with friendly, first-class service, Hendersons Bar and Restaurant boasts all the ingredients for a truly memorable dining experience.
Situated in a Yorkshire stone barn on the Westholme Estate, near Aysgarth, Hendersons was reopened as a restaurant and bar in 2009 following a full refurbishment which created a modern, but intimate, restaurant providing a mix of family and fine dining.
After continued success, Hendersons was extended in March and has since gone from strength to strength.
James White took over management of the restaurant and estate in June, bringing the benefits of a wealth of experience in the trade, ranging from managing Royal Yacht Clubs to the award-winning Alamo restaurant in Cowes.
August was a record month for the restaurant and estate, and Hendersons will soon be expanding its highly professional team to ensure the current high standards of customer service and the quality of the food it serves are preserved.
Head chef Sean Hewitt recently celebrated 21 years in the industry, having worked in many different environments, from cafes to exclusive country houses and a number of award-winning restaurants.
He offers customers a rich and varied range of cuisine, with an emphasis on dishes prepared with locallysourced and home-reared produce. Meat is sourced from local family butchers W S Hartle, of West Burton, while fish and shellfish from Jason Harrison, of Yorkshire Shellfish, is delivered on the day of the catch from the Whitby fishing boat Crimond.
Set on Westholme Bank, with stunning views over Bishopdale and surrounded by mature trees and grassy banks, Hendersons is a truly unique restaurant and bar where a commitment to providing customers with food and service of the highest quality shines through.
The bar is open from noon to 11pm, Monday to Friday, and from noon to 10.30pm on Sundays.
Food is served from noon to 2.30pm from Tuesday to Friday, from 7pm to 9pm on Mondays, from 5.30pm to 9pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and from 12.30pm on Sundays.
The table d’hote menu is available from 5.30pm to 7pm and the a la carte menu from 7pm to 9pm.
