PUDSEY Bear joined BBC television presenters selling calendars to shoppers as the countdown to Children In Need continues.

Look North weather presenter Hannah Bayman visited the Market Place, in Durham, this afternoon to sign copies of the BBC weather calendar.

At least £2 from the sale of each calendar will go towards the Children In Need appeal and the weather team are touring the region trying to drum up support.

Tomorrow (WED), She will be joined by Paul Mooney in the Captain Cook Shopping Centre, in Middlesbrough, and on Thursday the pair will be in the MetroCentre, in Gateshead.

They will end the week in Hexham Market Place on Friday, ahead of the free spectacular which will be the centrepiece of Look North’s Children In Need coverage.

Among the highlights will be a fancy dress parade down Beaumont Street featuring 150 children, while Santa and Pudsey will turn on the town’s Christmas lights at 5.45pm.

* Staff and guests at Hall Garth Hotel, near Durham City hope to clock up 280 miles on an exercise bike on Friday to raise money for Children In Need. In total, 28 participants will take 30-minute turns on the bike between 7am and 9pm to raise money for the cause.
