THREE artists are displaying their work in an unusual setting - a specially-created 'art gallery' within a North-East building society.

The Darlington Tubwell Row branch of Darlington Building Society is showing off colourful and distinctive work by local artists Stephen Musynski, Maggi Potter Biggs and Greta J Coates.

Maggi and Greta are members of the Darlington Society of Arts for whom the gallery was created. The current exhibition of their work runs until November 27.

The pair are also members of the 2012 Art Group which meets at the Bridge Centre for Visual Arts, in Hundens Lane, Darlington and Stephen is a member of the Community Art Project, also based at the Bridge Centre.

Building society manager Val Peacock said: “Since we opened our new art gallery late in December 2012 it has proved hugely popular with both our customers and people walking in off the street.

“The artwork is regularly refreshed and it is always exciting when new artists come along.

"The new work from Stephen, Maggi and Greta is unique and stimulating and I encourage as many people as possible to call into the branch and have a look for themselves.”
