TASTES of the states will be top of the menu at a new American Diner being opened in a former pit town.
Charlie’s American Diner will open on Willington High Street on Saturday (October 5) at 7am.
The diner, which is being opened in a former sandwich shop, is a joint venture between neighbouring businessmen Mike Bates and John Plant.
They have decorated the premises with American memorabilia and will serve a mixture of US dishes and English food.
Mr Plant said: “It has been a lot of fun but also hard work.
“Willington has supported both our businesses and we wanted to give something back and open something totally different to what is here already.”
The diner will be open 7am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, and 6pm to 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
