A WOMAN dubbed an "evil slavemaster" is appealing against her conviction.

Antonia Pearson-Gaballonie, 35, made her sister-in-law, Veronica Sandeman, clean while naked and eat dog food over a number of years.

The mother-of-six whipped the 26-year-old with a belt and beat her with a rolling pin.

The Scot, who was living in York, was jailed for seven years for inflicting abuse on Sandeman, who was a nanny. Her partner, Neil Pearson, was also jailed for two years for aiding and abetting her. Now both have lodged appeals.

Pearson-Gaballonie was convicted of six charges of causing actual bodily harm, one of false imprisonment and one of making threats to kill.

Former neighbour Amanda Palmer, 31, who took Ms Sandeman in when she escaped, said she was disgusted that Pearson-Gaballonie had appealed.

She said: "I will never, ever get that image out of my head. I would go back to court and tell them what happened time and time again if I had to. What she put that girl through is beyond belief.
