COUNCILLORS are due to vote on a controversial windfarm plan tonight.
Officers at Wear Valley District Council have told the development control committee that EDF Energy's plan for four 100-metre turbines near Stanley Crook should be approved. The meeting starts at 6pm, in Crook Civic Centre.
The committee deferred a decision on the windfarm last month to wait for a Department for Trade and Industry report on the impact of turbine noise on communities.
This has now been published and states that there is no evidence of noise affecting people's health.
