KEVAN JONES: I WAS delighted with North Durham MP Kevan Jones when he launched an attack on the Tories' economic policy and criticised the LibDems for their views on Iraq.

His stunning performance highlighting the SNP's devisive policy was also welcome.

Then I woke up. The dream was over. In recent issues of The Northern Echo, he has had a go at both the Labour-dominated Durham Policy Authority and Derwentside District Council. Before that it was the turn of Durham County Council and Chester-le-Street District Council.

Mr Jones enjoys a very well- paid job by virtue of being a member of the Labour Party. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

I look forward to the day when he spends time attacking the opposition rather than Labour-run councils. Alas, I feel I will have a long wait.

The quicker the Labour Party gets rid of him the better. - Name supplied, Chester-le-Street.
