AN artist is returning to his roots and displaying his second exhibition at a gallery more than 20 years after it hosted his first.

Teesdale-based artist, Paul Dillon, is displaying his exhibition Forest Light II at Darlington’s Crown Street Art Gallery 22 years after it displayed his exhibition Forest Light I in 1991.

His exhibition features a number of landscape paintings inspired by the North-East in a variety of media, including oil and watercolour.

When choosing work for his new exhibition, Mr Dillon said he realised that, although his techniques have changed and improved, his passion for North-East landscapes has remained.

Nick Wallis, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, said: “Forest Light II will showcase a range of North-East inspired artwork for all to enjoy.

“After 22 years, the exhibition is much awaited and anticipated.”

Forest Light II will be officially opened on Monday (June 10) from 6pm to 8pm and runs until Thursday, August 15.

Mr Dillion also runs art courses for adults at The Bridge Centre for Visual Arts, on Yarm Road, Darlington. For more information call 01325-244174.
