VISITORS to a picnic area will be able to rustle up their own Christmas presents.
Countryside rangers from Durham County Council will stage the event at Broompark Picnic Site, on the outskirts of Durham City, on Saturday, December 9.
They will be helping people make a range of gifts for family, friends - and even the birds - including Christmas wreaths, bird feeders, bug hotels and elf gardens.
Anyone with a wreath from last year can take it along and give it a new lease of life.
The rangers will use sustainable materials harvested from countryside sites around the county. Entry to the event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, is free, but there will be a charge for individual items made or bought.
