A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital after being involved in an accident with another biker on a North Yorkshire road.
Police closed the B1257 between Helmsley and Chop Gate on the North York Moors, just before 12pm today (Sunday, May 5) following the accident.
Two motorbikes were said to have been involved in a collision on the road. One of the motorcyclists suffered serious injuries and has been flown to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
It is not known if the two motorcyclists were travelling in opposite directions, but police are now investigating the incident.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were not required to attend the scene.
Any witnesses are asked to ring North Yorkshire Police on 101.
