POLICE are hunting two youths after they were seen throwing stones at a train as it approached Hartlepool station smashing one of the windows.

British Transport Police say the incident happened at around 7.10am last Saturday morning (April 27).

PC Gary Sykes, who investigating the incident, said: “Two youths were seen on a bridge near the station throwing stones at a train bound for London Kings Cross.

“The stones caused one of the windows to smash, but fortunately no one was injured and the train was able to continue its journey.

“This type of behaviour is utterly unacceptable and I would urge anyone who has any information to please come forward.”

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident, or who may have witnessed what happened.
