A MAN appeared in court today (Tuesday May 1) accused of the murder of his wife at their North-East home.
Alan David Baker is alleged to have killed Christine Baker at their mid-terrace home on a residential estate in Cramlington, Northumberland.
The 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead from injuries at the scene, after police and paramedics attended the address in Byrness Row, a cul-de-sac on the Eastfield Grange Estate, at 4.20am on Monday (April 29).
Fifty-six-year-old Mr Baker, of Byrness Row, Cramlington, was arrested on suspicion of murder and, having been charged earlier today, appeared before South East Northumberland Magistrates.
He was remanded in custody and will appear before Newcastle Crown Court on Thursday (May 2).
