AN excited young football fan queued for an hour to ensure he managed to get a special Spennymoor Town Wembley shirt.

Six-year-old TJ Glen beat the rush by queuing outside of the Spennymoor Town Football Club’s Wembley shop from 8am despite doors not opening until 9am.

The Spennymoor Town fan, who attends Etherley Lane School, Bishop Auckland, was keen to get hold of a club shirt specially made for the FA Carlsberg Vase final.

The club has sold more than 200 replica tops made by kit manufacturer Errea with details of the FA Vase Final embroidered on to the chests.

The youngster also managed to meet several of his player idols who were at the shop to sign club to sign items for fans.

TJ is heading to the final on Saturday (May 4) and he said: “I’m really looking forward to going to Wembley.”

His dad Simon said: "It's all he's going on about at the moment. He comes in from school and brings me drawings of Spennymoor players at Wembley - he's so excited.

"We can't wait to go down. It'll be a special day out and something to remember for the rest of our lives."
