A COMMUNITY heritage project to bring together memories of a former industrial town is being unveiled later this month.

Made of Steel has captured memories of local people from Consett, County Durham, and surrounding villages over the past few months through oral history, using film, sound recording, images, art work and other memorabilia.

The project aims to provide a lasting legacy for future generations and culminates in a dedicated film.

People will be able to see the material at The Lodge in Blackhill and Consett Park on Monday, April 29 from 1pm-3pm and Tuesday, April 30 from 1pm-3pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm.

Space will be limited, so people are advised to book a place early.

A DVD of the film will be on sale for £5 in cash only.

Bookings are being taken via 01207-218-852 or email colouryourlife@leisureworks.net no later than Friday, April 12.
