SEVERAL charities are to share £280,000 raised by sporting stars and celebrities who gave up their time to take part in a charity fashion show.

Newcastle Freeman Hospital’s Children’s Heart Unit Fund, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Chef’s Adopt a School Charity were chosen as the beneficiaries of the popular Fashion Match event which took place last month.

Footballing brothers Sammy and Shola Ameobi, Newcastle United legend Rob Lee and actor Ralf Little strutted their stuff on the catwalk along with rugby players from the Newcastle Falcons.

The fashion show was held at the Falcons’ Kingston Park ground, and 650 guests enjoyed a fun night of entertainment.

Organised by entrepreneur Graham Wylie and businessman Ian Watson, of Hadrian Health Care, the event was hosted by comedian Bobby Davro and pop star Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet entertained guests with his music.
