DURHAM is to host a musical evening to celebrate International World Heritage Day.
The city’s Castle and Cathedral were made a Unesco World Heritage Site (WHS) in 1986.
International World Heritage Day is Thursday, April 18.
The following evening, the chapel choir of University College, Durham, otherwise known as Castle College, will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s B Minor Mass in the nave of Durham Cathedral.
The concert begins at 7.30pm. Entry is free but tickets must be reserved: in person at the Durham WHS visitor centre, on Owengate; by calling the centre on 0191-334-3805 or emailing: visitor.centre@dur.ac.uk
