FIREFIGHTERS have dealt with a handful of track-side blazes along the York to Scarborough railway line.
The fires are believed to have been caused by a steam train igniting trackside vegetation and a total of five incidents were dealt with throughout Wednesday afternoon and into the evening.
Crews from York tackled a fire at Flaxton, while North Yorkshire firefighters dealt with incidents further up the track, including at Sherburn near Pickering.
The fires caused delays along the York to Scarborough line and a replacement bus service was laid on.
