CONCERNS are growing for a man who has not been seen for a week and may be without his medication.

Police are keen to trace the whereabouts of Colyn Waite (CORRECT) who has been missing from his home in Shildon, County Durham, since last Wednesday (Wednesday, March 27).

Mr Waite, 45, moved to Shildon from Halifax in 2011 to live with his mother, who has since died.

He is described as white, 6ft tall and stocky with grey slicked-back hair.

Mr Waite’s sister, who lives in Wakefield, raised the alarm on Saturday night when she became concerned for his welfare as she had not been able to contact him.

When police made enquiries they discovered the last time anyone saw him was on Wednesday, March 27, when he told a friend he was going to Bishop Auckland to sort out some financial affairs.

When officers entered his house they found clothing was missing from his wardrobe.

He has not been seen since and police are not sure whether he has any medication with him, which he takes for a mental health issue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham police 101.
