MEMORIAL services for parents who have had children die during pregnancy, at birth or in infancy are to be held at three of the region’s largest churches.

Saying Goodbye services will be held at more than 20 venues across the country, including Durham Cathedral, York Minster and Newcastle Cathedral.

The services were established by Andy and Zoe Clark-Coates, who lost five children through miscarriage.

Seven were held last year. They feature music, poetry and readings and are free to attend for anyone of any or no faith. Seats are issued on a first come, first served basis.

The Durham service will take place on Saturday, April 13, with the Newcastle service following on Saturday, May 18, and the York service on Saturday, September 28.
