Police have discovered the body of a man in a city park early this morning. (Sunday, March 17) The man is thought to be in his late forties and the discovery was made at Heaton Park in Newcastle.
Police enquiries are ongoing but there is not thought to be any third party involvement at this time.
METRO UPGRADE: Two Tyne and Wear Metro stations are to be refurbished as part of a £385m modernisation programme.
The work at South Gosforth and West Jesmond, will see the platforms, buildings and approaches to the stations improved.
New ticket machines will also be installed during the modernisation work.
